The Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS) facilitates the transmission of electricity across state boundaries using the central transmission network. This allows power generated in one state to be delivered to consumers in another, helping to address power imbalances between states. Historically, ISTS transactions have enabled DISCOMs with limited generation capacity to meet their energy needs from power-surplus states.
